Nursing students start with foundational learning in microbiology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as general education in the arts and sciences. Diagnostic and patient care skills are developed through intensive lab-based instruction, providing a solid base of knowledge that students can build upon during their guided clinical experiences. Clinical placements are available to students at Utica’s new Wynn Hospital and other facilities, with opportunities for paid part-time employment as nursing assistants while they study.
