Utica University Receives National Recognition for Student Success Achievements
"...rising to the challenge, leading with empathy, and using technology in smarter ways to help students achieve their goal of earning a college degree.”
Utica University has been named as a finalist for EAB’s Student Success Collaborative Citizen Award. EAB is a nationally recognized consulting firm specializing in education institutions. EAB’s Collaborative Citizen Award recognizes an institution that selflessly shares its practices and approaches to student success and strives to help its peers succeed.
EAB has a 40-year history of consulting with and supporting educational institutions from across the country. They work seamlessly with each institution to tackle education’s toughest challenges and ultimately make their communities stronger.
This is the tenth year in a row that EAB has recognized outstanding achievements in student success. Finalists were chosen from the plethora of colleges, universities, and individuals that use Navigate, EAB’s student success management system, or Starfish, the student success platform EAB acquired in 2021.
“Many of the students arriving on college campuses today were profoundly impacted by the pandemic and staff have to innovate to ensure these students receive the support they need,” said EAB President of Technology, Scott Schirmeier. “The finalists for EAB’s Student Success Collaborative Awards are rising to the challenge, leading with empathy, and using technology in smarter ways to help students achieve their goal of earning a college degree.”
Utica University’s holistic approach to student success, specifically its Academic CARE Team, provides a unique pathway and personalized assistance for every student to ensure they are on the right track to reaching their individual goals. Each Academic CARE Team consists of a Success Coach, Financial Aid Counselor, Career Coach, and Faculty Advisor. Together, these individuals meet with students one-on-one to discuss their specific needs relative to each CARE Team department, and guide them along every step of the student's academic journey.
Utica University, among the other 25 finalists, were selected from the more than 850 colleges and universities with whom EAB works with to support student success. The winners of this year’s awards will be selected from among the list of finalists and will be recognized at Student Success conference, CONNECTED24, a three-day gathering of thousands of student success leaders from progressive community colleges, as well as four-year colleges and universities, taking place this January in Denver, Colorado.
